Frontier salesmanship (Anchorage Daily News)

I was born in 1913 in Clifford, Colo. It was just a railway stop. It's still a railroad stop, but there's no town there now. I had three brothers and four sisters. Actually, five sisters, but we lost a baby older than I. My parents came from Kansas and homesteaded 160 acres in Colorado. We came to Alaska in May of 1936.
