In Alaska every moment is a potential moose moment when you are outside.
In Anchorage or out in the Alaskan wilderness, keep your eyes open and you are sure to see moose. They hang out most everywhere and seem to be completely unaware that they are just feet from a drive through or just yards off the highway. This time of year many of the female moose are accompanied by their young and this is when they are the most volatile and unpredictable. If you have never seen a moose in the wild the sighting can be very exciting and the baby’s look so cute and harmless. Moose will normally grant you many picture taking opportunities but be sure and exercise caution while enjoying the sight and remember, even though the moose are seen in the city, these are still wild animals and very very large one’s. Be sure to stay in car for picture taking opportunities and don’t spook them. Most importantly, don’t ever get between a mama moose and her young!
If you respect these wild animals for the magnificent and spectacular animals that they are you are sure to have many fabulous moose moments and memories to carry with you for years to come and if you are lucky enough to find a safe place to pull over when you spot one, you may even have pictures to treasure and share long after your Alaskan experience is over.
