Land of The Midnight Sun - Alaska in the Spring

Ahhh- Alaska in May, Memorial Day week-end. There is nothing like spring time in Alaska! From the local people, larger than life wildlife, vegetation to the 100 pound plus halibut, everything is alive and full of energy. I suspect it is solar energy energizing everything and everyone. Sun up by 6:00 am this time of year and sun down comes at approximately midnight. You can feel the excitement and energy in the air. If you have never experienced 18 hours a day of daylight, and are planning a trip to Alaska, you are in for a real experience in the land of the midnight sun.

Be prepared and well rested when you arrive. You will have plenty of hours to experience anything your heart desires in Alaska all while being provided a full dose of solar energy to fuel you. Be sure and keep in mind that most Alaskan locals spent way too many hours indoors last winter. They are ready to get out and enjoy the solar power too. If the opportunity presents itself, pull up a chair and talk to an Alaskan local about life in Alaska and the extreme seasons, they will have plenty to share with you if you can slow them down long enough to talk.

This energy is tough to tame, maybe that's why everything is done with such vigor and passion up here. Whatever the reason, feel the passion and energy of Alaska and use the sun to push you to your limits. You won’t want to miss a moment of your stay!
